May 28, 2010: need a new travel project. Future mother-in-law wants socks… I’ll try these and see how far I’ll get.
Mod: need a smaller size. Since the pattern seems to be quite elastic I decide to go down one pattern repeat to 56, knowing her feet to be small and slender. Using a 2 mm circular magic loop.

I did a boomerang heel. For the second sock I finally managed to adapt the heel pattern, which I had overlooked before. Also, I ended the foot with the heel chart.

Love the socks - the pattern is really elastic, promising a nice, tight fit. I only hope I did the correct size…
the legs are too short (3 pattern repeats; I’d do 5-6 next time). The foot (size 36) had 5 pattern repeats plus heel chart (4 rows). Worked fine.
I am not too happy with the yarn though - although a super wash, it felted while knitting, which made correcting mistakes difficult. Also, the halo gets in the pattern’s way - I’d prefer a cleaner look for the diamonds…
