Dec 15, 2010: My husband needs a new scarf -I think - so I thought, while I wait for new wool to finish off another project, I’ll start with this one.
The first scarf I ever knit for him was a simple 2x2 rib in jeansblue 4ply sockwool. He loves it and wears it all the time (good that the wool is machine-washable…!)
Now I think some colour would be nice sometimes… Plus, Tumnus seems such a lovely pattern, and I found the perfect dark red wool. -- also this time, the sockwool is a 6ply - a bit warmer than the other scarf, but still machine washable…
he really claims he does not mind the slightly scratchy feeling…

Dec 17, 2010: slight modification: added two pattern repeats. My math is horrible, so I casted on three times, but now it works! (cast on 63 st) First ball of yarn is already gone. Have to put it on hold though, another project has priority. Even though, it will be a Christmas gift, WIP or not…
Jan, 15, 2010: Can’t believe the scarf is still not finished, but the easy, mindless knit bores me after a while, plus I was VERY busy with other things. I’m on the fifth of six skeins though, so it won’t last much longer…
Jan 19, 2010: Cast off after five skeins - the scarf has the recommended length of reaching my fingertips when worn around the neck. It will probably stretch a bit with wear, so that’s fine. Washing, blocking and formally handing over has to wait for the weekend…
