This pattern was very fun to knit (and fast!), and I love the look of the tee. I wish I had gone with maybe a purple instead of the dark green to better play off the colors in the yarn used at the hems. Yarn is surprisingly a bit itchy after a few hours of wear. Maybe I’ll try washing a few times in a mild soap to soften--I only steam blocked this due to the silk content.
Mods:
- custom size (see project notes)
- mirrored decreases every 4th row
- mirrored increases every 8th, 8th, 6th, 6th, 4th row
- only 3 lace repeats on all hems, neckline
Project Notes:
Using a thicker yarn because I couldn’t resist how pretty it was. To compensate for different gauge, knitting a custom size that will give me about zero ease at waist and hips, and 2” negative ease at bust.
Cast on for size 34, which will give me about a 40” hip at my gauge. I-cord cast on is a PITA, but it looks super pretty. Love the lace too, but decided on only 3 chart repeats, given my gauge difference.
Doing mirrored decreases every 4th row (°k1, k2tog, k to 3 sts before marker, ssk, k1, repeat from °) since I have to do nearly triple the decreases to get to about a 28” waist and while I like my sweaters long, that would be too long! Total stitch count after decreases = 148.
Mirrored increases every 8th, 8th, 6th, 6th, 4th row. Now following pattern for size 28, which gives me about a 34” bust.
Only 3 lace repeats on sleeves and neckline as well.
6.6.14: body up to arm join done, 1 sleeve started. Need to put project on hold for a bit to meet other project deadlines. Super, duper impressed with how fast this knit up so far! I’ve never gotten this far on a pullover in only one week before!
7.4.2014: picking up once again! Looks like I’m going to be about 20 yards short of MC1. Balls. Better order another skein!
7.13.2014: final skein arrived. As predicted, didn’t need much of this at all! Oh well.
7.17.2014: And done! Pre-blocking fit is nearly perfect. Hope to gain a tad more length… .
Need to add better photos soon!
