Wanted to use up some stash yarn. To adjust for difference in gauge, casted on for size 38 to get approximately size 35 bust, then customized waist increases/decreases to fit my own measurements.

Overall I’m very happy with the sweater--all that stranding in the body makes a sort of built-in corset! I do wish I had made it about 2 inches longer, though. I may try to block out some more length.

Mods:

• 3 extra waist decreases and therefore, 3 extra hip increases. To accommodate extra increases/decreases, knit them every 8 rows twice, then every 4 rows.
• elbow-length sleeves. I didn’t have enough of the light blue to make full sleeves.
• worked one row of CC1 in pattern before bind-off on neckline and sleeves.
• knit 3 extra rows on neckline edge.
• JSSBO on hemline.

Yarn:
Swans is awesome, as always! This was my first time knitting with the Gnome Acres, and I totally love it. The slightly heathered coloring and tweedy bits are perfect. Pairs really nicely with the Swans, even though it has a touch more twist. I’d love to try this yarn with some different stitches in the future--I think they’d really pop!

Progress notes:

9.15.2014: I’ve done 2.5 repeats of the colorwork; project will now need to go on hold for a bit while I work on some deadline stuff. It’s a bummer to put this one on hold--so fun!

10.20.14: picking up again! Just started waist shaping.
