Thinking about sewing two squares back to back to make a purse. Don’t know if it’ll turn out alright, but here goes.

6/4/2013 - The two main squares are done but I think I’m gonna expand the design and try to make it inspired by the rose window of Notre Dame. This is a little ambitious (ok a lot) but I’m making it for a friend who carries textbooks so it was too small with it just being the two squares. Whew, here we go.

6/4/2013 10pm - I’ve got all of the pieces so far outlined in black and squared off. I also put the little circles in the bottom two spots on the big squares. I’m thinking that I’m gonna design something go under the main designs mimicking the vertical panels in the original window.

6/10/2013 5pm - Woo! Done with the vertical windows. Everything’s outlined in black, they are blocking (used all my pins except 4 or 5) and I’m gonna add an inch or 2 strip around the sides and bottom to add a little width for books and such.

7/17/2013 12:45am - Crisis has hit. I’ve lost the hook I’m doing this with. Thankfully all I have left to do is the strap that is supposed to go around the purse and around the shoulder, but I’m a long way into it and I really really don’t wanna start another one with a different hook than I’ve used throughout. In other news, I’ve gotten both sides stitched together and looking awesome. I might hafta make me one of these some day, if I can find a less work intensive strap/strip combo. I still need to finish that plus line it. If I could sew at all I would want to double line it. Outside would be black for the windows and inside would be a brighter color so things could be found in it. Since I can’t sew, I dunno what I’m gonna do yet. I’ve also been making the strap double wide so I can put a liner inside and fold and sew it so it doesn’t stretch so much. Where’s my hook?!
