I like holding yellow with this orange blossom Baby Jacquard. Wanted to use a smaller hook, so I scaled back from the yellow worsted weight I had been using in the booties and hat to some yellow baby yarn. I am glad to be using up some of this baby yarn, too since I have a giant ball of it. I will need to find my other skein of Jacquard to finish this hat, but I know I have another one so I’m not (too) worried. :)

I chained 43 instead of the number called for in the pattern. Just did what looked right to me.

01-01-2013 Finished it last night, but for weaving in ends. I got the idea to make it like some of the fleece kids’ hats I’ve seen while I was making it. Instead if gathering it I folded it flat with the seam in back, and I single crocheted across the top of it. Then, I made a tassel on each corner. I’d never made tassels before either, but I thought it went quite well and I had the added benefit of not having to weave in the ends from single crocheting across the top. :)

Did 52 rows.

Started another, smaller one last night with the same pattern but chained fewer because I don’t have as much of that yarn. Will finish it the same way.
