Rainbow Blossom
I was so pleased with Zig-Zag Posy project, that I immediately wanted to knit another one, but
suitable for everyday wear using affordable yarn, which I have in more than enough quantities in my stash.
It’s again a top down sleeveless cardigan or vest, worked flat in one piece beginning with a yoke, with the bodice worked in zig-zag stripes. And because I have a tendency of making changes in every new project, even when I want to reproduce the previous result, I made the changes here too. The yoke pattern is different, which resulted in changing the number of repeats in zig-zag pattern to make a smooth transition from the yoke stitch pattern to chevron.
This yarn isn’t new to me, thus I know about its tendency to felt and shrink slightly in length with every wash, no matter how careful I am. Keeping in mind that it is going to be a casual piece of closing and multiple washes are inevitable, I intentionally made this cardi a bit longer. But even with no shrinkage at all I would choose this length anyway, because I want a generous coverage at lower back to keep my “baby” warm.
Sabrina chose the colours for this cardi and gave it a name. I love the pale pink colour as the MC. It creates such a delicate overall look, and at the same time each colours shines against this background. :)
