Toe-up, two-at-a-time

Oh boy, I’ve only knit a couple pair of socks and with these went down a needle size. That’s good but I ran into so many problems with the tiny stitches, especially since I knit at night after supper -- i dropped so many black stitches and totally muffed up the short rows on the first sock … spent one entire evening ripping out, desperately trying to re-load stitches on the needle, etc. Lots of wasted time on these ones. BUT, I finally got through the rough spots and am glad I chose vanilla for getting back into sock knitting!

The plan was to make both the toes and heels in black -- after being entirely unable to see what I was doing with the toes, I nixed using black for the heels. I’ll save the black for some stranded knitting.

YARN: I’m very impressed with this yarn. The dyeing is superb. It’s nice and smooth, good feel, nice stretch, a quality yarn and will definitely buy from Turtlepurl again.

PATTERN: This is the third pair I’ve made with this pattern but definitely will use a different vanilla pattern next time (maybe Wendy Johnson’s).

Note to self for future: Instead of Medium, knit the Large / 64-stitch and continue to use US size 1 needle.
