I followed the pattern verbatim with the first pair I made.
With the 2nd pair, I slipped the first stitch of each row when working the 12 stitch instep row. I slipped the first stitch as if to knit on the knit rows, and slipped the first stitch as if to purl on the purl rows. It was much easier to pick up the stitches later, by having those neat chain stitches along each side.
I really enjoyed knitting this pattern. It was simple to understand, and they’re just so doggone cute!
