Finished size: 49” x 49”.

This is a great pattern to use a yarn like Homespun that’s generally hard to work with because of it’s weird texture. There are no chains to go into except for the initial ring and the end of the decreasing rows. Otherwise, it’s all spaces that are worked into.

I did the main part of the afghan with the size L hook. The 2-row border was done with a K hook for the first (dc) row and an I hook for the second (sc) row. I had to do it this way because I was running out of the Corinthian yarn. The colors don’t show in the photo as pretty as they are in person.

91 rows + 2-row border.

3 days to crochet.

I did the border this way because I was running out of Corinthian and didn’t have enough for the whole border. So I found the Quartz, which was a good choice for a contrasting border band and then outlined it with what remaining Corinthian I had (had to go down another hook size to get it to make it to the end).
