Joined squares with Happy (variegated) by putting wrong sides together and slip stitching through the back loops. I did 2 rounds of a seed stitch border (sc, ch1, skip a stitch) around with (sc, ch2, sc) in each corner. For the first round of border, at the joinings of the squares, instead of sc, I did hdc in the ch-2 spaces at the corners of the squares and hdc in the joining. This evened out the border instead of having it dip in a little at the square joinings. Second round was just seed stitch around.
