First off I want to give huge credit and thanks to jocelynlally and her AMAZING Bears Hat which totally inspired me to make this one.

The week Deathly Hallows Part 1 opened I was browsing around on Ravelry looking for sock weight hats and saw the Bears Hat. It made me want to make a team hat with a Harry Potter theme. I wanted to specifically knit from stash, make something that was HP, but extra nerdy, so maybe only obvious to the more gung-ho fans. I weighed a number of options, but ended up settling on the Chudley Cannons (although i may have to make more in the future).

Anyhow, i really love this hat!! the socks that rock color is called “just right red” but this specific skein was the perfect shade of orange to do justice to Ron’s favorite team!

a few additional notes:

• copied jocelynlally and added a pompom (and a big one at that!)

• startd the decreases right after the black stripe

• those balls with lines coming off of them are supposed to be Cannons, for reals
