Off to a good start. This yarn feels nice, has a good stretch. And I love the color variation.

I thought I would do some knitting over the Christmas holiday while I was at my parents’ house in R.I. But that did not happen. And now I am sick and really not feeling like knitting.
Time to get back on track!

I have completed the back, and have started on a sleeve. It’s so cold here right now, having this sweater to wear would be nice! But I think at the rate I am going, it will make its debut in the Fall.

After a long hiatus, I am back knitting again. This project is first on the list because I would like to wear it now that the cool weather is coming.

Too bad I did not get to this for the long, cold, snowy winter we had in D.C. this year. All of the pieces are complete. Now to piece, wash, and block.
3-7-10
Last night I added the collar to discover that is was too thick and chunky. So I decreased the CO 15 stitches (from 20).

Wow, look at that date! Cool.
I discovered this video from a Ravelry member, sorry can’t remember who now, about setting in sleeves. This has been the block w/finishing this sweater because I am not comfortable seaming and have been making it up as I go. The video showed me that I was not completely off and now I feel much more confident. The pieces are all rolling up, too, so I am fighting with pinning this together so I am now taking the step to block the pieces to flatted them out.

When seaming stockinette to garter (collar to body of sweater), I did my best to cobble together a mattress stitch, with the right sides up. That way the seam is on the inside.

Lots of seaming for this project. Not fun. I thought this was going to be a simple sweater. Not so much.

Pulled this out from hibernation, going to frog to use the yarn for something else.
