I’ve wanted to knit this cardigan for a long, long time and have only heard wonderful things about how lovely it is to knit and wear.

I found this amazing 100% scottish New Lanark aran wool yarn online and loved the Blossom color - it’s a candy pink with specks of lilac and white. Not the softest yarn in the world, but very nice to knit with and I think it’ll soften up after blocking.

Hoping that this will be as fun to knit as the October Frost and Harriet Cardigan that I knit from “A Fine Fleece”. So far, that book has amazing patterns.

UPDATE: this pattern was very fun to knit and easy to bring to knitting group. I ended up knitting the whole sweater with buttonbands and collar before adding the sleeves, but it worked out well.

I found the sleeves to be too long and a bit too fitted for my taste, so I altered the pattern and stopped decreasing at 56 stitches for the arm and knitted straight until the sleeve got to my a inch below my wrist. I used a seed stitch edging instead the ribbing for 1”. I love how the sleeves fit me perfectly! (I have short arms.)

I was surprised that I had 4 full skeins of yarn left over for this size. I checked my gauge a number of times and I was right on at 4 sts/inch, so I’m not sure why it called for so much more yarn. I can’t imagine that my shortened sleeves would have used 4 more skeins! It seemed like the sleeves only took 1 skeins a piece or a tiny bit more than 1 skein. Weird!
