I’ve just bought a new issue of Verena Winter 2013 and instead on making a long-postponed project that I couldn’t finish from September 8, I started this pattern Amelia, and hope to be more successful and quick with it…:-)
I’m so glad it’s ready. This yarn was some barrier that I couldn’t overcome so long. But I liked the sweater very much and have no doubts about my pattern’s choice: it looks modern and pretty original.
I omitted the hood and just made 5 cm of ribs around the neckhole: firstly, I am not sure the hooded sweater is a practical thing for me and secondly, I had no enough yarn to make the hood anyway. Besides, instead of knitting the sleeves/cuffs separately and then to sew them to the body, I cast on right from the edge and then made decreasing to the bottom edge.
What I would change but didn’t: the sweater is worth making a little longer (e.g., instead of 9 cm, knit at least 14 cm after the ribs before adding); the sleeves could be made narrower at the wrist part.
