Doing the fully gathered version makes me think of the bubble wrap that you pop the air out of, but this one will be for snuggling rather than popping lol

Using some stash yarn that I was gifted, its an olive green colour and I’m going to over dye it when finished, not sure what colour I’ll aim for yet, but likely to start either with adding some red or blue and see what happens… worst case scenario I keep dying untill it turns a nice brown ;)

Going to also knit a gathered hat to match…eta: decided its not soft enough for a matching hat

13/5/13 - Love the pattern, though the gathers seem to take forever to knit, hate the yarn, hoping it softens up with washing, this design wont touch baby’s skin at least though, will dye it tomorrow. Did an extra gather repeat for a bit more length.

14/5/13 - Used quite a lot of food colouring before the olive would change colour, wasn’t too happy with it for awhile, but in the end got a dark berry colour that will work ok, used pink/ red/ and blue colouring in random qunatities. Added quick pre dye and post dye (still wet) photos, will add better ones tomorrow
