More crochet play, using some gradient wool from stash, perfect amount left for a headband
Took three tries of getting started and doing a few inches then frogging before I came up with a stitch pattern I liked, no doubt it is a known technique but I got there myself. Managed to get two headbands out of the wool I had, love how the colours turned out, one headband for each of our girls. Wasn’t intending on felting them, but to get the colour transitions on the biggest one right I had to make it a bit longer than intended and that made it more suited to shrinking a bit through felting.
Pattern I did was (for personal reference, likely wont make much sense to others) chain 4, loop, * chain 3 off loop, 2xtripple stitches into loop, chain 1, 3x triple stitches into same loop, chain 1, slip stitch into loop, slip stich into gap between clusters (rotating project as you go), slip stich to top of gap between clusters. Repeat from * (into the gap of previous clusters rather than initial loop) till desired length, slip attach to initial loop
Pre-felting photos added, final pics to come
14/3/15 - I’ve tried felting this in a hot wash a couple of times but still not the size I want so I’ll try again
Third wash felted well
