I love this pattern. The best thing is little or no ends to weave in because you carry the yarn along the side as you crochet the rows. I chained 110 for the small baby throw.
It’s a gift for a neighbor/friend who just had her third child, a little girl. However, when I started the blankie the sex of the baby was a secret so I chose more neutral colors from my yarn stash (which is limited). I really wanted to use the light lime yarn (Loops & Threads Impeccable Impecable in Soft Fern - see first photo {where I alternated the three colors}) rather than the black but the light lime yarn was too thick and made the blankie feel too stiff. Unforturnately I didn’t have any similar lime color in Simply Soft yarn. The only other color I liked with it (that I had on hand) was black. So black became the third color.
This is a very solid weave - no spaces or holes for tiny fingers to get caught in, however, because of the full weave it is a little heavier and slightly stiff with even the softer yarns. Maybe a baby yarn would make it softer.
Still have the edging to do.
I need to come up with an appropriate baby name for this little throw.

Edging: Three rows (rounds) of single crochet. First orange (permission), then black and finished with white (for the white round I turned the blanket over to stitch the single crochet). I liked “the back side” of the single crochet on the “front” of the blankie.
This little throw looks great from either side by the way.
Last step I machine embroidered a label and hand sewed it on the blankie.
