Anyone who knows me knows I am completely obsessed with Cuddlebums stormy rainbow colour way. When I saw this blanket I just knew I had to make a deconstructed stormy rainbow.
So I asked the delightful Jodi if she’d dye me up one of her blanket boxes, but instead of the 3 undyed skeins to dye them up in stormy grey for me.
This is crazy 8 yarn, similar to dk but has a much better stitch definition.
CO 278 to inc. border.
I am LOVING the results so far.
I kind of want to try it in reverse… With stormy grey hexagons and short change rainbow doing the lines to define them. Perhaps I will try it one day!
I’m coming to the end of my 3rd pattern repeat at the moment.

Half way through my 5th pattern repeat, updated pics added. I think I’m going to get 7 or maybe 8 repeats with the yarn I have.t

I had to order an extra skien of the grey yarn to complete this to make it pretty much single bed size (I want to snuggle it on the sofa!) and make sure I use all the coloured yarn. Due to the absolute incompetency of Royal Mail losing no less than 5 skeins of yarn (I kid you not!) there was a rather long delay! Unfortunately due to the nature of hand dyed yarn despite Jodi’s best efforts and the exasperating efforts of the aforementioned Royal Mail there is a notice me difference between the grey colours but I find I don’t mind this!
I have just started what will be my last. Colour repeat, my 8th. There is intact enough yarn to get 9 repeats total but then I fear though it would be perfect single bed size it will be too l g for my intended purpose. I also have vague plans to make a cushion cover to match at some distance point in the future.

FINISHED. It’s I the blocking mats so fingers crossed for a lovely sunny day tomorrow so I can get some nice pictures. I have throughly enjoyed making this. Though part of me wishes I had done one rainbow instead of 9 iyswim.
