Spring (albeit a bit shivery) with Tom Scott’s because I love this piece.

many pictures due to creative possibilities….
2/1/14 This is the most unique piece I have knitted to date. What an amazing designer! Adorable no matter which way you flip it around!

experiment gone VERY RIGHT!! can’t wait to finish, photograph, and wear!
and, much to my surprise, this really IS a two for one garment because it IS as delightful as a cardi as it is as a work-of-art!
Whether right side up or upside down, my attention goes directly to the streets of NY where Tom Scott’s design work and out-of-the box thinking is chic and unique!
I am highly likely NOT going to wear this as a basic cardi.
notes:
~knitted in the direction as seen being worn in VK magazine (which are the first 8 pictures).
~you need 2 buttons (not in materials list)
~waistband, I think should be p2,k2 for continuity of pattern.
~utilization of one row button-hole method is a must and sewing buttons on with project yarn…
~really weird setting in the sleeves. I set them in so sleeve seam is in traditional place when wearing as I prefer which is the first 8 pictures. You may want to set in the sleeves as a traditional cardi. You really cannot see the sleeve seam if you sew it neatly so the point may be moot, however I am very picky about finishing touches. Now, I’m wondering if the sleeve seam could be sewn anywhere and if there is a better location for it. I’m pondering this. Using the k1 every row for a selvage is very helpful for an invisible seam. Also, focus on putting in those increases neatly. Another option, knit the sleeves in the round.
~no blocking to keep the wonderful textural fabric as intended.
~Worn purposely slouchy for designer look.
~One size adds to the allure for me however I did take time and care about the gauge, as always.
~I did need more yarn than indicated. There is a story, here.
~need to catch up on my blog and photo shoots…. way behind due to weather (I like the photos outside) and new job (very time consuming), however 1 week off is coming up very soon! yeah!!
