Notes

This wrap is fun and simpler to knit than the stitch pattern looks, which I love - more bang for your knitting time buck! I made this version with an additional fourth row of scalloped stitches.

The three rows called for in the pattern are faster to knit, but this is a nice modification option I think, especially if someone is very tall or very large bust. It required about 100 yards extra yarn to make in the size L. In general, I would recommend an extra 20% more yarn for your size to do the extra row.

Although the pre-blocked stockinette stitch gauge was 18 sts. per 4 inches, this yarn retained a lot of spring after blocking, and did not soften and relax like the Paint Box. So the wrap is nicely springy but smaller in the post-blocking measurements than the pattern for this size. I ended up with a size that was approximately 44 inches wide - in between the M and L.

I like the semi-solid heathered yarn, it shows the stitches really well and gives this wrap an Aran-like effect (even though there are no true cables).
