I am stuck on the 1st row of Shape for Legs thus. Can’t seem to make the “patt. 35” work out right. I understand that to mean “continue in pattern as established”, but I do it and the last few stitches don’t add up-- there are either too many or too few. This must be a case of it’s-so-simple-it’s-complicated, so I’m betting it’ll just click and I’ll slap my forehead a-la “no doi!” Though it would help if there were some kind of construction overview or just more photos. Maybe reading ahead and trying to visualize the directions will help.
Follow Up: went ahead with using 3rd row to “patt. 35”, even though it seemed like you were supposed to start over with the 1st row. So far, so good. A Few Rows Later: Turns out I am overthinking it (no surprise there!) in that “pattern as established” doesn’t include the original row stitch counts. ((Just keep going, just keep going…))
Established pattern awareness: slip the appropriate colors on the appropriate rows, yarn forward/back on the appropriate rows.

Messed up on beginning of 7th row, now I don’t know how to fix it and I think I’m screwed. Will frog back a few rows and see where it gets me, though it’s wool-- easier said than done. UGH.
Ripped back to beginning of leg shaping. HINT: having a seam ripper handy to release those fibers that won’t let go of the previous stitch is a total patience saver. (Side note: yarn broke, but now I know how to do a Russian Join, huzzah!)

Well, I’m stumped. Got through Row 8, and now I’m not sure how to interpret the rest. I get the idea of what they want, but the execution is just not happening. I don’t do well with vagaries. Maybe I’ll wait for my next “a-ha!” moment. Update: Going to rip back to the beginning of leg shaping, AGAIN. Methinks I’m having problems continuing because I still didn’t get the color changes right. MEH.
