Notes from Knitty.com on the cable stitches!! This really helped me do the cable stitches, which were slightly problematic for me.

I wanted to incorporate white into this shawl to make the Tardis theme pop, but didn’t want to do the Tardis section in color-work. I also wanted a wavy border (something kinda wibbley wobbley!) so I did a feather and fan with stripes design for the edge. I also did a row of single crochet along the neck edge of the lace to keep it from rolling under and give it a bit of stability. And, finally, I added clear glass beads to the top of the Tardis motif instead of the bobble stitch.
