Notes

The stitch pattern from the Camissonia lace vest also makes a lovely wedding chuppah or shawl! Here’s one I made for my sister-in-law’s wedding (my husband added the fringe, a nice touch!). Everyone absolutely loved the finished chuppah, and after the ceremony my sister-in-law wrapped it up as a giant scarf and wouldn’t take it off all weekend! Now it’s hung on their bedroom wall (vertically beside the door), and I think it will be there a long, long time. :)

To make the chuppah, I upsized the gauge to a fingering-weight silk/alpaca blend yarn and 3.75mm hook, and crocheted 5 Camissonia squares plus an extra edging. In essence, the edging was just a few rounds of open shells, with a slight adaptation at the corners.
