Unlike my other experiments in knitting solids the Soma Cube is created from seven knitted pieces that have each been loosely stuffed with small polystyrene beads to retain their shape.

The pieces can then be put together to form the cube or used to create other solid shapes.

The final touch was to create a presentation box out of acetate sheet. This box serves three main purposes. It keeps the pieces tidy, it turns the cube into a presentable gift and it creates a further level of difficulty when completing the puzzle if this completion must be accomplished inside the box.

A lot of people have already asked about patterns for the solids. At the moment these are experimental but we will be refining them and producing the patterns in due course. We will make any announcements on Woolly Thoughts Fans.
