My skein of Bugga! started out with 134 grams in it - 22 more grams than promised (80 yards extra). Amazing.
I’m using Ashamanjababu’s Kernel’s mods on row seven of the main pattern repeat - basically at the beginning and end of the row, you swap the yo and the k2tog or ssk so that the yo is on the inside, like it is in rows 1, 3, and 5. It switches to the outside in rows 9, 11, and 13.
11/20: I’m just not getting into this pattern. The lace isn’t moving me. It’s delicious knit up in the Bugga, but feels like a chore.
11/29: Of course, after I posted that, the pattern clicked for me and I finished it over Thanksgiving. It’s blocking now.
As others suggested, I knit the Upper Edging early so that I would know how many repeats I could squeak out. I actually did it when I was getting close to the end by pulling from the other end of the cake. Worked out fine.
The beads I used are way too small for the yarn, but they were on hand. Hopefully they won’t eat through the yarn. Also, on the Upper Edging, my beads didn’t line up right. I noticed it was the same on others’ projects as well.
Holy cow. On the wires, this is 11.5” by 86”. I only completed 18 or so pattern repeats. I also used a needle one size larger than the pattern recommended. Is it a scarf, or is it a stole? Nobody knows. Particle man.
11/30: Pulled it off the wires, triumphantly hung it up for pictures, and realized I SCREWED UP. On the edging motif, I did an extra repeat on the lower edging for some reason unknown to myself.
Options:
1) Ignore it and hope everyone else does.
2) Rip out 86” of knitting to fix it.
3) Try to find a) Bugga! that’s b) remotely closely matching so that I can add a repeat to the lower edging.
Of the three, I think option 1) is looking most likely.
