Divide for heel and work slip-stitch for 32 rows/16 purl ridges. Turn heel: sl 1, k17, ssk, k1, turn; sl 1, p5, p2tog, p1, turn; etc.

My big feet have forced me into surprise toes. Sigh. At a foot-length of what I thought was 7.25-inches (but was actually closer to 7.5 maybe?) I switched to the dark grey, knit to 8 inches, did hungry-stitch set up row, and then started decreasing for the toe. (Will do the same for the second sock).

For toe: decrease every-other round until 52 stitches remain (26/side), then decrease every round until 24 stitches remain (12/side).
