This shawl was really fun to knit. I couldn’t put it down.

The pattern says to cast on 10 stitches but the stitch count in the chart is 11 so I cast on 11.

The pattern says the shawl is 73” x 16”, but that doesn’t include the leaf edging (the stockinette portion is 73” x 16”). The finished measurement including the leaf edging is 83” x 21”. I wish I had realized that before I started knitting because I would have gone down a couple needle sizes to make it less of a shawl and more of an indoor scarf.

I moved home with my parents from February 2017 - June 2017 while my husband was deployed. I knit this shawl during that time, keeping it secret from my mother, to give it to her for Christmas. I had to wait until I moved back home to block it because there was no way to hide that from my mom. I started nursing school in August and didn’t get around to blocking this shawl until December 18th.
