Notes

My gauge was larger than the pattern’s so I used the stitch count for the toddler size for a finished circumference of 19”.

The crown shaping as written was wrong so I used the crown shaping from Colorblock Hats.

-Cast on 44 sts with size 11 needles
-Work 5 rounds in rib (2”)
-Change to size 13 needles
-Work in pattern for 13 rnds - 6” long
-Work 8 rnds crown shaping

Crown shaping:
-Rnd 1: k9, k2tog around - 40 sts
-Rnd 2: k3, k2tog around - 32 sts
-Rnd 3: knit
-Rnd 4: k2, k2tog around - 24 sts
-Rnd 5: knit
-Rnd 6: k1, k2tog around - 16 sts
-Rnd 7: knit
-Rnd 8: k2tog around - 8 sts

I used a 4” diameter faux fur pom-pom from Joann Fabrics.

Total Cost: $11.39
