5 gray + 2 yellow rounds and (18 gray + 2 yellow rounds) 4x and 2 gray rounds in stockinette sts before decreasing.

Decreasing
Round 1: k14, k2tog, rep to the end.
Even rounds: k to the end.
Round 3: k13, k2tog, rep to the end.
Round 5: k12, k2tog, rep to the end.
…etc…
Round 17: k2, k2tog, rep to the end (twice more decreases in the round).
Round 19: k1, k2tog, rep to the end.
Round 21: k2tog to the end.
Round 23: k2tog to the end.

And I’m waiting now for the approval of my son…

The hat is too long :( He want it shorter…

I made the straight sectoin shorter, only 3 repeat of 18 gray and 2 yellow rounds. And the hat is approved :) Yessssssssssss!
