Notes

I wanted an extra pillow to go with the two from Barbara A Pott that I have already knitted - Celtic Oak and Celtic Rowan Pillows. I loved the tree by Ariel Barton and thought it would be perfect for the centre of another one.

To make it fit in I used 2.75mm needles and my gauge with this yarn was 26 stitches and 40 rows, it made a very stiff fabric, which is ok for a pillow.

The tree pattern looked confusing at first with the half charts but it is very well written and easy to follow. (doing cables at this gauge in this yarn - not easy!) The stitch explanations are excellent.

I used a provisional cast on for the border and did a three needle bind off. For the seed stitch button band on the back I dropped a needle size and did two extra rows.
