Crocheted squares in three sizes, arranged in a geometric pattern covering 15x18 small-square-units, plus a border.

Most of the rounds are alternating hdc and ch stitches (with extra chains in the corners to make a square); the outside round is sc for the small squares, hdc for the medium squares and dc for the large squares. This makes it all fit together neatly.

Every third round is Cascade 220 Westpoint Blue Heather, the rest are picked more-or-less randomly from the selection I’ve put together, with no repetition in each square. The colours are arranged so the final round is always the blue colour.

The border is:
Round 1: hdc in Westpoint Blue Heather
Rounds 2-5: (sc, ch) in four different colours
Round 6: (sc, ch) in Westpoint Blue Heather
… all repeated three times, then a final sc round of blue.

Final total is approximately 1.5kg (3.3lb) and 3000m (3280yd) of yarn.
