Sock postmortem for future-me in case I ever look at this again:

Based on my “master number” notes, the sizing and lengths on the Riverbed Master Sock pattern were based on 9 stitches per inch and 12 rows per inch.
Before frogging, I measured and found 10 stitches per inch and 12.5 rows per inch.

I confirmed my foot length and circumference measurements were correct.

I didn’t think to check how long the sock was when I started the increases for the midfoot, so I don’t know if something went wrong there (i.e. started increases too soon).
Likely yes, if I had to guess, though even if I started at the right length the sock bottom would still be too short due to the incorrect row gauge that went into determining that length.

Not sure what happened, if I did my math wrong back in 2018 or my gauge changed or I messed up the directions, but I’m at the point to start the heel and the sock is way too short and wide. Frogging socks, will probably use the yarn for sock for myself in the future but imma go with some simpler projects first.

Putting a project on hold for 4 or 5 years, picking it up and not having the stitch counts be right… oops! 5 hours later, I figured out I missed an increase two rows below. So I just skipped a decrease on the current row to make it align. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, apparently all my increases are M1L instead of doing mirrored increases or the recommended increases in the master sock pattern by Cat Bohrdi. Oh well, at least I can read my knitting to keep it consistent thought the socks!

So pour out some liquor, make it an old fashioned
Remember your youth, in all that you do
The plank and the passion
They were the best of times

I knew it from the first Old Fashioned, we were cursed
It hit you like a shotgun shot to the heart

You were drivin’ the getaway car
We were flyin’, but we’d never get far
Don’t pretend it’s such a mystery
Think about the place where you first met me
