This is my first real colorwork pattern. I’m using yarn leftover from other projects. I’m tempted to make the thumbs pink!

The instructions for the cuff are missing the two-color ribbing shown in the photo. I didn’t realize this until I neared the tip of mitten 1. Oops! Started over (and contacted the designer - the individual pattern is correct, it is wrong only in the collection of mitten patterns).

Oops - another missing instruction on the thumb.

Oops, on my part this time. After knitting (and reknitting and still more reknitting) mitten 1, when I got to the thumb hole for mitten 2, I realized I had misread the instructions for adding the scrap yarn. Oh, well! Wabi sabe! I’m not redoing mitten 1 yet again.

Jan, 2016 - FINALLY picked this project up again. All that remained was to knit one thumb. I did that, and wove in the gray ends; I ran out of natural light, so the black will have to wait.

The thumbs turned out different sizes, despite my knitting the second thumb twice. They are warm, though. I hope they felt a bit through use. Not a bad result for my first try at stranded knitting.
