Hoping to improve my crochet skills with this CAL. Am using stash and a variegated yarn, so will probably only use two or three colours per motif. All the wool is British - the variegated is Jillybeans Shetland and the other colours are a mixture of Blacker Shetland and their classic 4ply.

I really, really enjoyed this CAL. I initially intended to make the cushion so did 28 hexes but when I put them all together, I loved the colours and the textures of the wool so much that I really wanted to wear them. My hexes turned out quite big and because it’s wool, it’s very warm, so I took 24 of the hexes and just seamed them in two rows. I did the edging as per the pattern which really pulled them all together. I’ve seen some amazing projects that use just one of the hex patterns repeatedly and some of them are so pretty that I’ll definitely be incorporating them into future projects. Ravelry group for this CAL was amazing and my confidence level in crochet has just soared as a result of this. Hooray - I can crochet now!
