Had to cast on right away as soon as I got the e-book. Love all the haps, but knowing I had 4 hours on a coach, I wanted a simple garter stitch project to begin with. Martina uses a lot of Wollemeise in her designs, so it made sense to dig out the one skein I had in stash. I then found this gold silky skein from Old Maiden Aunt that I picked up at EYF in 2015. I’m really sorry - people have asked but I can’t remember the colourway and I’ve lost the skein band. They go perfectly together. I may be short on yardage though for the gold, so am adding a few more stripes than the pattern calls for and weighing balls carefully.

Fun and easy pattern and it was the photos on Kate’s blog of her wearing it in multiple ways, that made me excited to knit this one.

Love it, really has elevated the simple garter stitch scarf. Lots of interesting ways to wear it. I added extra stripes in case my colour B needed more than 100g but I needn’t have worried. I think this could easily be knit with two 400m skeins, if you end up short of one colour, you can always add more stripes at the last square, or even introduce a third colour.

Edited to add: Have weighed my remaining skeins and I used 96g of colour A (the variegated) and 70g of colour B but I would have used less of A and more of B had I knit it as the pattern called for. I think this can easily be knit with 2 100g skeins and it’s very easy to make small adjustments if you do run out.
