I made lots of edits to this to correct the pattern.
General Notes
• A = black (background colour)… these are the white rows
• B = red (skull colour)… these are the grey rows
• Odd rows are read right to left (this is the RS)
• Even rows are read left to right (this is the WS)
• All odd rows are knit across
• All even rows •=K & blank space =P
• I changed the charts to make the teeth look more like 3 teeth (see photo) When I knit the first chart it looked like 4 teeth with 2 of them mangled, so when I did the other side, I altered the charts. If I make again I will knit with my altered charts for 3 teeth on both sides of the scarf.
Modifications:
Added a garter stitch boarder up the sides to prevent curling. (4 extra stitches on each side)
If I go directly from knitting 12 rows of Illusion Stripes (as directed) to knitting the chart, there will be 4 rows of B bunched together & that cannot be correct. I want to retain the 2 row stripe pattern sequence thru out
What I did:
• With A, cast on 38 stitches. (4 stich edge, 30 stitch pattern, 4 stitch edge)
• With A, knit 6 rows.
• Work in Illusion Stripes pattern for 12 rows.
• Repeat row 1 & 2 of Illusion Stripes pattern (in A), then start chart 1 with B
• Work in illusion stripes pattern BEGINNING with row 3 & 4, so that colour pattern stays consistent
• Repeat row 1 & 2 of Illusion Stripes pattern (in A), then start chart 2 with B
• Work in illusion stripes pattern BEGINNING with row 3 & 4, so that colour pattern stays consistent
• With A knit 8 rows
• BO
• I did not feel the need for fringe on this.
