I’m making a pair of matching cloches for my SIL and her baby girl while the wool sets up for my SIL’s mother’s handbag. This is the second of this style for the baby as she has grown out of the first and ‘mom’ has expressed a desire to have one of her own.

1/20 Nearly finished with the adult sized hat just need to make and attach the flower. For the large hat, I cast on for the largest size (2yrs. plus) and added 4 additional stitches following the additional instructions in the lace section for ‘2 leftover stitches’ at the end of the round. Did one additional repeat of the lace section for a total of 4 repeats and 3” brim length.

I made the size (6-9 mos.) for the baby that required a cast on of 68 sts. yet when I got to the decrease section, the decreases did not pan out as they were set up for a multiple of 8 stitches and this is the only size that requires a number of stitches not divisible by 8. This was fairly easily remedied by doing K7, K2tog, K6, K2 tog, repeating around, then on the next round K6, K2 tog, K5, K2tog around. I got back on track with the pattern on row 7 where the instructions are to K around. Instead I K3,K2tog every other grouping so that on round 9 I would have all K2, K2tog.
