A monkey-like sock with smoother fabric and a split toe.

Changes

• 3” twisted ribbing followed by 4 repeats of the pattern before the heel since I don’t find 1” of ribbing to be enough to hold up a sock
• Purls replaced by twisted stitches (twisting done in round after purling is shown) to create a smoother fabric
• Holes mostly removed by replacing YOs with M1L/M1R (as appropriate) increases in the following round, for similar reasons
• Continued gusset decreases until the sole needles had 12 stitches each since the pattern is for a foot a little bigger than mine
• 5 repeats on foot
• Toes: Divided stitches so that there were 9 per needle on the big toe side. Center was made with provisional cast-on of 8 stitches. Decreased the two edges (transferred a stitch from outside) of these on the first two rounds after knitting into cast-on. I should have picked up extra stitches at the joint and added an additional decrease. Other decreases last stitch under next to last stitch. See diagram for numbers.
