My 3-year old grandson is OBSESSED with heavy machinery. This is the perfect jacket for him.

note - the charts need to be matched against the number of stitches you have for fronts or back. Also note that the left and right front charts have a different amount of stitches AND there are 2 “left” fronts.

Gaak - this reminds me of how much I dislike intarsia, compared to stranded knitting or doubleknitting. No other choice, to get all the colours. It is cute, however, and nearly worth the billion ends I have to weave in.

• Added an inch of length to sleeves and the jacket. There is a lot of yoke apparently that adds to the sleeve and body length to underarm, but the sleeve seam in particular is really short as written.
• Started sleeve with 36 stitches instead of 42 - that seemed too wide.
• Not as many stipes on the yoke/hood. Enough going on as it is, I think.
• 3 needle bind-off for the hood seam.
• Picked up 2 stitches/3 rows for the front. Used larger needles (lazy) and that worked out fine. Did a row of the tangerine then black, so the zipper can be sewn on with black thread.

Installed a black “sport” zipper. Looks good!

Gauge: 20 stitches and 28 rows - size 4 mm needle, unblocked.
