I made one of these 7 years ago for Grandson #1 here. Now Grandson #2 also has a fascination with heavy equipment, particularly dig-digs (diggers - aka backhoes).

Mods
-do 1x1 rib for hem

• cast on a couple fewer stitches as my gauge is 20 stitches/4 inches not 22 and Grant is tiny. 68 for back and 34 for fronts.
• look up Russian zipper pocket notes in other projects. Decided to just pick up and knit, and after 3 rows stockinette, do a 3-stitch i-cord to finish. Sew the zipper on in the stockinette portion.
• use 3.5 mm needle for everything
• make the yoke less deep
• do a rib collar instead of a hood.
• different stripe sequence for the yoke, then went to blue.

Notes
-cut out 2 rows of grass as I thought I was short of green. Started decrease after 12 rows past the chart 8:25 inches.
- provisional cast on for sleeves, so I can measure it when I get to the recipient and then finish them off.
