Noelle is my newest darling granddaughter. I knit her mom Katie the “matching” angel stocking, with the periwinkle background so I am doing this stocking in similar colours so Katie’s doesn’t look out of place in the other red and green combinations that the rest of the family has.

Using various Cascade 220 - Christmas Green, Christmas Red, White, and dark green and grey in other yarns.

• the grey for the dove is a tweed, so you can see specks of other colours.
• both stockings have royal purple toes, as I had 4 or 5 skeins of purple that I decided not to use for a sweater, so all girl stockings of late have something purple on them

I started knitting these stockings on a 4.5 mm needle this year, which I prefer, but Noelle has to match her mom and big brother. Her father, my son, has his knitted Christmas stocking from when he was a child (knit by someone’s aunt or grandmother I think), and the size is similar to this pattern knit of 5 mm.
