Finished on St. Patrick’s Day - appropriate with this colour.
I love green, especially the darker forest/hunter variety. Why I don’t have a green cardi I wear to work is beyond me. Time to fix that! This is a great cardi. It can be worn double-breasted, single-breasted, and open. Lightweight and pretty!
Cast on Jan 1 - Yarniacs self-indulgent KAL.
Followed the pattern pretty much (!) except:
- picked up for M sleeves (84 stitches) then decreased 2 on row 2 then 4 on row 4 to end up with 78 stitches, then on row 11, and every 11th after until 62 stitches, then every 10th row to 54 stitches. 37 rows, then cuff. These sleeves were a little wide if knit per pattern.
- also stopped increasing for the body after I reached 333 stitches.
- twisted rib for hem and cuffs.
- 5 rounds rib then bind-off for cuff, as running out of yarn!
Unblocked:
3 skeins body - 16.5 inches
1 skein both sleeves - 19 inches.
I bought this yarn from Kim @ Indigodragonfly directly, as she is on the road to my sister’s cottage. I love Cariboubaa, and this is a beautiful colourway. It is thinner than tml (plied, for one thing) and I thought about going down a needle size and knitting L, or knitting M, but I want something light and drapey, and I’ve already knit this yarn successfully on 3.5 mm needles, so I’m going to stick with that size and knit M. Tiny amount left. Perfect amount for this sweater.
