Joji designed this project to be a Rhinebeck 2015 sweater for a group of us - her devoted fans. THANK YOU JOJI!
Note on yarn usage: I had 34 grams left from 6 skeins, but my skeins were overweight - 124 grams vs. 116, so the actual yardage was probably closer to 1465.
Notes:
- using 4.5 mm needle to get gauge.
- size M cable and above. Increase below cable to get 4 extra stitches for body and 2 for sleeves. In hindsight that was unnecessary, M would have been fine.
- 21 grams left of first skein after cable, so probably used about 200 yards for cable.
- did extra 2 short rows above cable.
- bust darts - start at 3 inches below armhole. 32 stitches from front, then 35, 38, 41 (8 rows added).
- move pockets closer to the front by 5 stitches, so knit 35 pocket flap stitches (15 from side). Picked up to one stitch from front edge for pocket linings. Used thinner yarn for pocket linings, with 4 stitches of the Erin closest to the opening. 14 grams Arroyo for linings.
- picked up 132 for buttonbands. 2/3: 10 for yoke, 22 for cable, 96 for body and 6 for bottom rib.
Sleeves
- pick up to start at 62. Decrease every 15 rows, then at 54 stitches, every 10 then at 48 every 5 until 44 for rib. 12 rows rib. Each sleeve took 78 grams.
Pattern Gauge: 17ΒΌ st and 24 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) on US 6 (4mm) needles, in stockinette st.
My gauge knitting Erin is 16 stitches and 24 rows to 4 inches in stockinette, blocked, on size 4.5 mm needle.
