Knitting L to be more oversize than I usually wear. Start off with S neckline, and increase, as I don’t want it falling off my shoulders.
Knitting with this yarn feels like I am knitting with waxed string, but I know the miracle that occurs with washing.
After the sleeve split 104 for back and 103 for front including the 8 I cast on at underarms. Added 2 to front at each side then 2 more twice to end up with 109 for front. Added additional stitches at the sides, roughly 4 stitches every 16 rows after the waist to make it a slight A-line.
I originally knit the ribbed hem with the smaller needles, but decided to rip it out and do a rolled hem instead, as it was pulling a bit, then when I was ripping it out I decided to stop at 7 rows and do a stretchy bindoff. I like the smaller ribbed loose hem now.
Sleeves- 64 plus picked up 8 at underarm and 2 more for the gap, which I decreased on round 1. 72 stitches. Decreased 2 stitches on rounds 5 and 10 to end up with 68 for size L sleeves. Followed the pattern after that and decreased after 16th round, then every 7th until 46 stitches. 5 rows rib same needle size.
The neck was still really loose so I added a three-stitch icord with the larger needles. Then, after a few years, I ripped out the icord and just crocheted around the neckline with a single crochet, as the neck looked better being looser.
