This pattern was released in time to take it on my motorcycle trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway, which reminds me of Laura. The bottom picture shows me in all my gear, with my bag of knitting (in plastic, in case of rain, which it did).

I saw the original actual wrap on Laura, and it is beautiful.

Colour 1 - Lupine - 39 grams left from second ball.
Colour 2 - Frost
Colour 3 - Carnation
Colour 4 - Elderberry in Skein Merino, which should tie everything together. I had thought of Lolita or Onyx, but I like the Elderberry the best.

Cast on July 1 - Canada Day. I started tacking my “old” yarn when starting a new colour, instead of having a 3-stitch loop. I like it this way better. This link here explains the technique I use for catching the floats. The picture shows the first 3 loops without tacking, then I tacked the rest.

• started 2nd ball of Colour 2 at row 335.

• just realized I have not been slipping the first stitch. Ack! It will just take me longer to pick up through the garter ridge bumps. Dumb mistake, as I knit All the Shades of Truth last summer, and slipped the first stitch for that project.

• did a few more border rows as I wanted to use up as much of C4 as I could.

• 54 x 18 unblocked.

• 60 x 18 blocked.
