Notes

I highly recommend this pattern for variegated yarn.

I’ve been thinking obsessively about this yarn, which is not itself itchy, but has created an unbearable itch in my brain to use it!*
Every since I frogged my Inner Peace Shawl (see 2 pictures at the bottom, above the scarf), which did not play well with this yarn, I’ve been thinking about what to do with this skein. 600 yards, and I’d like to use up all of it.
- choice was Brickless or Strandwanderer, and I picked this one, as I LOVE the pooling in the “stripes” sections. Note - also found Measured Disorder - would be good for this kind of yarn.

Advice from the designer:
Please read this before you start knitting: For maximum effect make sure that the colour repeats of your yarn are not too short. The colour repeats of the Wollmeise yarn I used are 20 cm - 35 cm long (per colour).

Notes:

  • stitch count after row 18 = 32 (picked up 13)

  • stitch count after middle +5 = 37

  • stitch count after second stripe (picked up 23) = 41

  • stitch count after third stripe = 50 add 5 stitches for each middle section, and 4 for each stripe, picking up 10 more each time.

  • 111 grams left after 8th stripe.

  • 75 grams left after 12th stripe and 150 stitches, ready to start 13 - this is halfway through the skein. 64 grams left after 13th stripe 155 stitches. -ended up with 17 stripes. 14 grams left. shawl weight 132 grams. 190 stitches at the end.

Inner Peace Notes:
When I was lucky enough to visit with Julie and Joji, her mom Virginia and Ale in New York, Julie was knitting her third version of this Joji design - Inner Peace. She was also wearing a silk scarf with the colours of this yarn (see the bottom pic). After I returned home, I saw this yarn at my local Fiber Festival in Wooster, Ohio and just had to buy it.

skein weighs 149 grams.
