For my friend Sandee’s first grandchild. Claire Marie, whom they are already calling Claire-Bear - the Teddy pattern (bear with wreath).
Various Cascade 220 yarns colours - White, Japanese Maple, Christmas Red, Christmas Green, Brown, Black
This pattern is from Mary Maxim Christmas Stockings 2, but not in the Ravelry database (not all the patterns from this pamphlet are listed), although a leaflet with this correct pattern is listed, so I linked that.
- 4.5 mm needle recipe Becky’s Family Stockings
- cut off 2 rows prior to pattern, so 4 after 11-row name block, then start pattern (58 rows), and did 5 after end of pattern (end row 80 chart).
- duplicate stitched the berries. Good idea - started from the top with 2 long tails, then worked each side down.
- I think I prefer a green foot, or a purple foot with so much purple at the top.
Another grandchild - Mackenzie Brooklyn.
- Mackenzie is too long for the stocking width, so part of the name is hidden. No alternative suggestions.
- 11 for name, then 7 for bell-band. 4 white then start pattern (43 rows) then 5 white. 7 for bottom bell-band and 3 to end = 80.
- White foot with red heel and toe. Some bleeding, so had to re-wash with a colour-catcher.
Chloe Stocking (Claire’s sister)
Puppy dog pattern (46 rows). Add candy cane pattern from tin soldier.
-
after name band, do 4 rows green, 3 rows candy cane stripe and 7 rows green to end up starting the pattern on the RS (next time, start the green on the RS and do 5 before the candy cane stripe and 5 after, then 10 at the bottom).
-
after 46 rows of pattern, did 9 rows green. 69 total rows after the name band = 80.
-
duplicate-stitched the eyes.
