Notes

A variation on plain vanilla self-striping patterns. Cuff-down, gusset heel. I think this pattern is a bit lost in the self-striping - recommend a plainer sock yarn.

Note - I am wearing these on the wrong foot to photograph. The pattern is supposed to be on the outside of the top of the foot and leg.

  • love this yarn - super-soft! - but it is splitty and using these tiny needles made this difficult, especially with the twisted rib. Even with the plain stockinette sections I still split my yarn. Recommend both the yarn and the pattern - maybe not together.

Casting on 64 stitches (M) with smaller needle (size 0 - 2.0 mm) as this is light fingering yarn. Otherwise, would have cast on 56 if using a 2.25 mm. Twisted German/Old Norwegian cast-on.

Toe - decrease every second row 8 times, as knit the foot too long to decrease 11 times per pattern.

  • very pretty colourway. Even my husband (!) commented on how nice the cake of yarn looked.
