This project hibernated as I worked on my next magazine project (for Knitscene Fall 2017). But by mid-January I fell into a state of finish-i-tus. (Three FO’s this week!) I knit the last stitch of Boardwalk this morning. Blocking will happen soon.

I had a guage/size issue an had to start over, but I am move along now. Lots of stockinette in the round. This is my current mindless project.

So, of course, I ordered the Loft. I am about to wind it into balls, but I took a photo of it looking so pretty in the box!

The single strand of pebble made a lovely fabric with a workable gauge, but I think it is too light in weight for this design. The double-stranded swatching I did produced a heavier fabric, but (1) I am not crazy about it, and (2) the gauge on that is about 22 st in 4 in.
Would you believe I had a skein of Brooklyn Tweed Loft and swatched with it, and I like it a lot? I just might have to buy 4 skeins of it to make this design. (Sigh)

I have 8 skeins of pebble. I could probably make this with the yarn held double. It would have more body. I have not yet decided.
I have been wearing my Hart made with pebble very often as the weather is starting to turn. I used US size 3 (3.25mm) for the main needle, and I just checked for an “after several wearings” gauge (yes, there is no doubt in my mind that there is such a thing) and it is still at 25 st in 4 in. That is the exact gauge called for with this pattern except that this pattern calls for that “after blocking with slight stretch”.
I think I will try a swatch with a US size 2 (2.75 mm) and a single strand of pebble. (I am such a loose knitter and size 41” is a bit bigger than the in-between 39-40” size that I would prefer)
